Creating from a voice recording
Record or upload audio and let Edustories transcribe it and write your case report's narrative for you.
The voice path lets you simply talk through a situation. Edustories transcribes your audio and uses AI to turn it into a structured case report, so you don't have to write anything by hand.
This is the "Upload audio file" option on the "Case Upload" screen.
Protect everyone's anonymity. When you speak, do not mention any names or specific institutions, cities, streets, or other details that could identify the student, their family, or your school. Describe people by their role (for example "the student", "a classmate", "the parent"). Edustories also has safeguards in place, but the safest case is one that never contained identifying details in the first place.
Add your audio
You can either record directly in your browser or upload a file you already have.
Choose how to provide audio
Use the "Record audio" tab to capture audio in the browser, or the "Insert file" tab to drag and drop (or pick) an existing file.
Record in the browser
On the "Record audio" tab, click the button to start recording. A running timer shows how long you've been speaking, and you can Stop, Pause, or Play back what you have. After you stop, you can listen to your recording or choose "Record again" to start over.
Or upload a file
On the "Insert file" tab, drag in or select your file. Supported formats are mp3 and ogg. If a file isn't accepted you'll see "Unsupported file format". Once added, you'll see the file name and size, with the option to "Upload another file".
Tips for a good recording
The richer your recording, the better the AI's draft and solution suggestions will be.
- Record at least 2 minutes. Short clips don't give the AI enough to work with.
- Describe several situations in which the challenging behaviour happened, not just one.
- Give direct quotes of what was said where you can.
- For each situation, say what caused it, how it unfolded, and what followed.
- Share your hypotheses about the cause of the behaviour.
- Give the student's background — personal, family, and academic history.
- Describe the student's relationships with peers.
Fill in the Required Data
Below the audio, fill in the structured "Required Data" about the student yourself. These details are not taken from your recording, so you need to enter them: the student's age, sex/gender, the frequency of the challenging behaviour, and country are required. You can optionally add family status, disorders, severity, diagnoses, hobbies, and grades.
These demographic and classification fields power the search and filters other educators use to find cases like yours, so it's worth filling in the optional ones too.
Generate your draft
When your audio and required data are ready, go to the "Generate transcript" section and click "Generate". (If no audio was added you'll see "Failed to upload audio file".)
What happens next
Once you click "Generate", the work happens automatically in the background:
- Your audio is transcribed into text automatically.
- The AI reads the transcript and fills in the narrative fields for you — the detailed description, the student's background, and (if you mentioned one) the solution and outcome. It also drafts a title and summary.
- Because both Czech and English are supported, your case is also translated so it's available in both languages.
This all runs in the background, so you don't have to wait on the screen. You'll be taken to your profile, where your new case appears with a status badge showing its progress (for example "AI processing", then "Translating", then "Not reviewed"). Feel free to leave and come back later.
When the badge reaches "Not reviewed", your draft is ready for you to check.
