Creating an account & signing in
How to register for Edustories, complete the required Profile Setup, sign in, stay signed in, and sign out.
To write case reports, save items, rate, and comment, you need an Edustories account. Browsing the public library is open to everyone, but the personal tools require signing in.
Registering
Creating an account is quick — you provide an email and a password and accept the terms.
Open the Register page and fill in your Email and a Password.
Tick the box to agree with the application usage terms (this is required).
Submit the form. Your account is created and you are signed in straight away.
There is no email-verification step. You can start using Edustories immediately after registering — there's no confirmation email to wait for.
If you enter an email that already has an account, you'll be told "Account with this email already exists". If you already have an account, use the Login link instead.
Profile Setup (first time only)
The first time you sign in after registering, a short Profile Setup appears with the note "Before we start, we need a few details". It has two steps and must be completed before you continue.
- Profession & experience — Choose one or more professions (for example special educator, teacher, teaching assistant, psychologist), or use the Other option to type your own. At least one profession is required. Also enter your years of experience.
- Personal data & country — Enter your name (with optional titles before and after), an optional date of birth, and your country (required).
You can change all of these later in your profile settings. See Settings.
Signing in
Returning users sign in on the Login page with their Email and Password, then select Login. If the details don't match, you'll see a single "Invalid email or password" message for security.
You may also be prompted to log in via a pop-up when you try an action that requires an account — for example rating, saving, or commenting on a case report.
Staying signed in
Once you're signed in, Edustories keeps your session alive for you. Your sign-in refreshes automatically in the background, so you normally stay logged in across visits for up to 30 days without re-entering your password. If your session can't be renewed (for example after a long time away), you'll simply be asked to log in again.
Signing out
To end your session, use Log out. This signs you out and clears your saved session on the device. If you were on a personal page at the time, you'll be returned to the home page.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is handled on request, not as a self-service button. To have your account deleted, contact the project using privacy@edustori.es.
