Verified authors
What a verified author is, how the status is granted, and how it shows up when browsing.
When you create an account, you start as a Contributor — anyone who shares case reports with the community. Some contributors are additionally marked as a Verified author.
The difference
- Contributor — any account holder who writes and (optionally) publishes case reports. This is the default for everyone.
- Verified author — a contributor whose identity and credibility have been confirmed by the Edustories team. New accounts are not verified by default.
How you become verified
Verified status is granted by the Edustories team, not something you can turn on yourself. There is no self-service verification button. The team curates this status as part of maintaining a trustworthy library.
"Verified author" is unrelated to confirming your email — it is a separate, team-granted mark of confirmed credibility.
How it appears
- As a badge. A "Verified author" badge is shown on the case reports of verified authors.
- As a filter. When browsing the case library, you can filter by Verified authors to prefer contributions from verified educators.
Anonymity and verification
The verified status and your anonymity setting work independently. If you publish anonymously (the "Display name in case reports" option turned off), your name does not appear on the case — and so the verified badge tied to your name will not be shown on that case. To have your verified status visible on your cases, your name needs to appear on them.
