Scores, endings & replay

Understand how your EduPlay score works, the three possible endings, and how to replay a case to try a different approach.

Every EduPlay session tracks a single Score that summarises how well your decisions are going, and that score decides which ending you reach.

How the score works

Your score runs from 0 to 100 and starts at 50. After every decision it updates: good choices push it up, poor or harsh choices pull it down. The score is always kept within the 0–100 range.

There is a built-in resilience cushion. If you've been doing well and built up a high score, the damage from a single bad choice is softened — a strong performance buffers one mistake instead of letting it sink you completely. This mirrors how genuine trust earned with a student gives you a little room to slip.

The same score drives the Decision timeline chart you see during the play, which runs from Crisis at the bottom, through Middle, to Resolution at the top.

EduPlay scoring is completely separate from Training. Your EduPlay score, the resilience cushion, and the ending you reach all live inside that single play. Playing a case does not affect your Training skills, your points, or your position on the Training leaderboard. EduPlay is a stand-alone reflective exercise — the reward is the ending and what you learn from it.

The three endings

After the final decision, your play resolves to one of three endings, chosen by your final score:

EndingWhen it firesWhat it means
Success (green)High final scoreA successful intervention — you turned the situation around
Warning (amber)Middle final scoreYou got through it, but without real growth
Danger (red)Low final scoreA crisis outcome

What the ending screen shows

The ending screen reflects on how your play went:

  • A title and message — an AI-written headline and a short reflection, matched in tone to the ending you reached.
  • Final score — labelled "Final score", shown as a coloured bar on a scale from Crisis to Resolution.
  • The full decision timeline — the same chart from the play, now complete.
  • Key moments — your three most impactful decisions, each shown as a card with the scene, the choice you made, how much it moved your score, and a short pedagogical insight about that move.
  • "What you've learned" — a short list of takeaway learning points written for the ending you reached.

Play again

At the bottom of the ending screen, Play again starts a fresh session on the same case report — the heart of the "rewind and try a different approach" loop. Because the choices genuinely branch, a replay can take you down a different path to a different ending. Back to case returns you to the case report's detail page.
