AI Assistant

A chat companion and teaching mentor grounded in the real Edustories case library.

Not verified yet

The AI assistant is a chat companion built for teachers and special-education professionals. Think of it less as a search box and more as a teaching mentor you can talk things through with. You describe a real situation in your own words — a challenging behaviour, a difficult student, a decision you are facing — and the assistant responds with practical, situation-specific advice.

What makes it different from a generic chatbot is that it is grounded in the Edustories case library. Behind the scenes it can search through real case reports written by other educators and use them to back up its suggestions, so you are effectively drawing on the experience of thousands of educators rather than getting generic answers.

What it helps with

  • Talking through a situation — describe what is happening and get a thoughtful, practical response.
  • Getting grounded suggestions — concrete tips and strategies, backed by similar real cases where possible.
  • Asking clarifying questions — if your situation is unclear, the assistant will ask a brief question first instead of guessing, and it tries to understand what you need right now (an acute incident, the aftermath, long-term work, or prevention).

Three ways to open it

The AI assistant page

Open the AI assistant from the main menu to see a welcome screen with a few feature highlights and an input box to type your first message.

Start a new chat

Type your first message on the welcome screen (or use the New conversation button in the sidebar) and a fresh conversation opens, with the assistant answering right away.

"Chat with AI" from a case report

On any case-report detail page, the Chat with AI button opens a new conversation already focused on that specific case.

You need to be signed in to use the assistant. If you are logged out, the welcome screen shows a Log in prompt instead of the input box, and it returns you to the assistant after you sign in.

Chat basics

Type a message in the box at the bottom. You can write up to about 2,000 characters per message.

Press Enter to send (use Shift+Enter to add a new line). While the assistant is replying, the input is briefly disabled — you send one message and get one answer at a time.

Watch the reply appear live. The answer is written out in real time, word by word, rather than popping in all at once.

Refresh or reconnect safely. If you reload the page or briefly lose connection while the assistant is still writing, the answer keeps going and catches up — you will not lose it.

The assistant currently replies in Czech regardless of the interface language you have selected. This is a current limitation we plan to address — your questions can be in any language, but the answers will come back in Czech for now.
